The best advice I've ever received regarding my career was to always leave your house looking like a makeup artist, whether its to dinner or to the grocery store, okay lets be honest I usually go to the store bare face but you get my point. You never know who you're going to meet or what opportunities will prevent themselves to you and this was definitely put to the test at my Macys interview yesterday! I went in to interview for a part time sales associate job and the interviewer took one look at me and said I belonged in cosmetics! After meeting with the hiring manager for the cosmetics department and a brief interview she offered me an on call position. (keep in mind I have no prior retail experience) I was already planning to write a post about this look because its one of the favorites but after the interview I rushed home to begin writing because its the perfect example of how looking the part can open up so many doors, so I hope y'all enjoy!
For my face I started with primer and a medium coverage foundation to cover any redness or problem areas. I then took a brightening concealer to highlight and conceal my under eye circles and set my entire face with a mattifying face powder. I contoured and added a light pink blushed along with a shimmery highlighter to add dimension.
I started off by taking the previous bronzer I used to define my cheekbones and blended it into my crease, this is going to be a nice transition color and it adds some warmth to the other shadows. Then using the original Naked palette I took Sin, which is a pink champagne color, and patted it onto my entire lid, then using Buck I defined my crease more and added it to my lower lash line is well. To finish off the eyes I added a wing liner, added mascara and filled in my eyebrows just going along with their natural shape.
