Tori Talks // My Five Happinesses

“There will be five things. Five thing that make you smile or bring you happiness every single day.”
This is something that has stuck with me while growing up and it’s still something I think about daily. Some days, on my good days, there’s more than five. On the other days I struggle to find the fifth happiness, but I always do. Because even on the darkest of days, light shines through somewhere, sometimes in the smallest of acts. These are five things that have gotten me through some of the most horrible and some of the most spectacular days of the last month, enjoy!

1: My morning drive. I know it sounds weird and who likes LA traffic, I know I don’t and I’m lucky enough that I never hit it on my way to school. *knocks on wood* In fact my drive is pretty peaceful. There is just something about driving out of chaotic downtown with a really good playlist filling my ears, its heaven.
2: That brings me to my next happiness: the albums that you never get sick of. We all have them, the ones that your friends beg you to not play because they’re heard it millions of times but you could listen to it a million more. My top two of late have been Multiply by Ed Sheeran (yes it’s newer but I can’t stop listening to it, I’m obsessed) and Halcyon by Ellie Goulding (do I need to explain? She’s perfect.) I’ll make sure to link my Spotify down below (:
3: Morning coffee runs. So I’m addicted. And it makes it ten times better that I’m not the only one. My classmates and I are all completely addicted and once 9:30 rolls around and the cups we drank at home start to wear off we no longer want it, we need it. (Okay so I’m exaggerating just a smidge but what can I say we love it) And though I lose a piece of my soul every time the barista charges my card for a seven dollar coffee (have I mentioned how much I looooove LA prices) I couldn’t live without my daily cup.
4: Notebooks. I’ve always loved to write, hence a blog, so therefore I’ve always been obsessed with having the cutest notebooks to write my notes, to do lists, quotes etcetera in. And I have to say the ones that Ive been using lately have put the biggest smile on my face. The pink dreams and schemes notebook holds all blog entrees and any other thoughts I have. The gold planner holds, you guessed it, my plans, but really I ALWAYS carry a planner with me because I’m highly unorganized without it. (Okay so I’m still pretty unorganized.) The black and gold Hamsa notebook holds all my notes regarding makeup that I take during school. (I prefer to call it my bible)

5: My favorite time of day: sunset. If you follow me on Instagram or twitter you’ll know that I post wayyyy too many sunset pictures but I can’t help it, I’ve always been intrigued by sunsets. I love how they take over the sky and all these colors shoot out in different directions and it’s like beams of hope. Because every place has a sunset and every sunset is beautiful, and that makes me hopeful. That no matter where you are on earth a sunset can reach you and that means beauty and hope can reach you too. So this is and probably always will be the one thing that can turn my day around when nothing else can.
What are your five happinesses?
xx,
T
